Smart sensors have already improved many facets of our lives. There are many of them in modern cars today and have made the roads much safer for us.
However, there are still many more day-to-day devices that could take advantage of them to assist us in daily lives and enhance our wellbeing and environment.
the challenge: Why haven't smart sensors found their way into more day to day devices and applications?
It's because the barrier to deploy them has been high.
Smart sensors must be always on and aware so should consume ultra low power.
They should be small and compact enough so many of them get deployed everywhere.
They need to have embedded AI and ML so they can run the analytics inside the device with minimum latency and no need for cloud processing.
Embedded AI allows for the data to stay secure inside the device for user’s security and privacy.
